The Biosphere prints are made by placing pieces of trash under paper or silk and gently patting the material with ink to get an impression. These works are refined with sumi ink. The imagery created depict a world of flora and fauna indelibly altered by human interaction. Using garbage as a metaphor for intervention on the planet, I hope to describe the resiliency of living things to adapt, while, at the same time, reminding us that we may not be part of that future. Special thanks should go to Lindsay Parker and Eddie Devoney, who helped design the process and assisted with building the works.
